Having Trouble Creating a Facebook Fan Page Box?

Solving the Facebook Fan Page Box creation issue

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been unable to create a new fan box widget here: http://www.facebook.com/facebook-widgets/fanbox.php

I get this far but then I’m unable to see a preview or get the code for the box.

I finally found a solution.

Go to this url: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box

Add your page ID number, adjust a few setting and you should be ready to add the box to your wordpress blog.

Introducing the facebook Fan Pag Like button

Today Facebook made a significant change in how we connect with fan pages. They have changed the model of being a fan to “Like” a page functionality.

FAQ from Facebook:

Why did “Become a Fan” change to “Like”?
To improve your experience and promote consistency across the site, we…
To improve your experience and promote consistency across the site, we’ve changed the language for Pages from “Fan” to “Like.” We believe this change offers you a more light-weight and standard way to connect with people, things and topics in which you are interested.

What does it mean to “Like” a Page?
When you click “Like” on a Page, you are making a connection to that P…
When you click “Like” on a Page, you are making a connection to that Page. The Page will be displayed in your profile, and in turn, you will be displayed on the Page as a person who likes that Page. The Page will also be able to post content into your News Feed.

Facebook Fan Page Privacy Settings Q&A

[UPDATE] Yes, there is a way to show and hide content based on if someone has “liked” your facebook fan page. This is not a membership level security fix. For example someone can “Like” your page to get access to the content and then unlike your page. Please keep that in mind. below I have included a basic code snippet to show and hide content based on if someone has liked your facebook page. In this case I’m showing a coupon code if you like the page:

“Like” this page to reveal your 10% off code!


Todays video will answer the following question, submitted by a viewer.

John, great Question and the answer is no, not on a Fan Page. You can limit this on your personal page but not your Businesses or Fan Page.

YouTube Now Promotes Gmail and Facebook Connect

YouTube is now sporting a new Gmail and Facebook connection on your logged in homepage (See the image below). This is a great way to attract more viewers to your YouTube channel and If they are friends let’s hope they subscribe, comment and rate your videos.
